Hi Everyone,

With 4 weeks until the start of the school holidays now is the time to think about what you and your children are going to be doing in the school holidays. As always we are getting ready to provide a number of fantastic camps where the number one aim is to ensure that each child leaves our camp having had the most enriching, happy and fulfilling experience possible.

The feedback we have been getting about the camps has been phenomenal and we THANK every parent (and child) who has let us know how much their children have enjoyed our programs and we cannot tell you how much it means to us!! As teachers we value above all else, the quality of care we are providing and hope that it is QUALITY that every child receives; on top of all else! We also value the unique opportunities our programs are providing kids, where new skills and abilities can be fostered and advanced in positive and supportive environments – regardless of ability – and sessions where all kids feel they have the opportunity and chance to succeed.

Remember that if you are a past participant simply send us an email at the bottom of the newsletter and we will update your application and send you a confirmation email, with all the information you need. if you would like to pay online you will need to apply online and pay as normal when prompted but we can also do this for you on the phone or if  you email us your card number. We are also happy if you elect to pay on the day of registration.

Summer Holiday Camp News:

Well we had two wonderful camps in December and January and – as always had a fantastic 3 days – with everyone.

Cricket was huge, as expected, with 3 groups being run in December and another in January. The boys continued to amaze with their continuous energy and drive to learn new skills, increase their abilities, oh and of course play CRICKET, CRICKET and more CRICKET! In January the boys had the most fabulous time as the heat soared into the high 30’s (and more) and Greg ran cricket drills in the Haileybury swimming pool! Needless to say the boys LOVED it and I was extremely impressed as to the skills one could further in a pool!

Dance in December was again extremely successful with the group once again managing to learn 4 routines (Hip hop, Contemporary, their own Choreography and Funk) and performing these with flair and incredible attention to detail for you all. I was SO proud of them, as always and they all left with invaluable lessons in the choreographing of their own Dance and in the experiencing of 4 new and unique Dance forms. Both so integral in order to create better Dancers and certainly better Dance for the future!

Tennis was chosen by some amazing young players who had a very experienced tennis coach who ran them through many new drills and skills and gave them very valuable individual time. I saw some very powerful shots and some great games being played. The world of tennis is looking good!

Minikidz – Firstly “What is Minikidz?” I hear you ask?

Minikidz is an exciting program run especially for kids aged 5 – 7 years.  Due to demand from parents, we have created a program designed to stimulate and engage younger children over full days for the 3 days of our regular camps.  (note: Minikidz participants can enrol for individual days if preferred)  Morning sessions will see qualified coaches engaging the kids in a range of sports and perceptual motor driven activities from 9 – 12 pm.  Skill level, ability and individuality will be taken into account.  Afternoon sessions (12 – 4 pm) will see Minikidz participants offered a range of art & craft activities.  Again our resident early childhood expert and former teacher – Diane, will be in attendance to oversee and help guide the activities.  Each day will offer a new and exciting activity, with specialist support staff and providers on hand to run fantastic programs.

Minikidz participants will have the added benefit of being supported and watched by an early childhood expert the entire time they are with us and will therefore have the best quality care available.  You can find out more about Minikidz online at http://www.kidzphyz.com.au/index.php?id=23

Minikidz was run in December and was very successful. Sport was played in the morning and in the afternoon a staff of 4 looked after their every need as they painted, play-doughed, life-be-in-it gamed or just chilled out (if they chose to!) and watched a DVD. Children also made Xmas cards with their photo in it for their parents and all under the direct supervision and programme of Diane, a highly qualified early childhood educator. The children all seemed to have had a wonderful time (I think a few Mums did too – well done!)
